BRAZILIAN PILGRIM CELEBRATES AS POPE ANNOUNCES 2013 WORLD YOUTH DAY WILL TAKE PLACE IN RIO DE JANEIRO

Pope invites youth to join him in Rio de Janeiro in 2013

Official announcement that next WYD will be in Brazil in 2013 and reaction (Video link below)

While praying the Angelus from Madrid, Pope Benedict officially announced that the next World Youth Day will take place in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro, confirmation of which was reported in the Scottish Catholic Observer last week. The announcement of Rio de Janeiro as the next host city was celebrated by pilgrims waving the Brazilian flag.
