Cross Wires: Susan’s Papal visit, and teen, dream

Life does not get much better than singing for Holy Father, Scottish singing sensation tells Oprah Winfrey

Over the past  12 months Susan Boyle has met the two people she’s always adored—Donny Osmond and the Pope, according to the Oprah Winfrey website.

The Blackburn Catholic who shot to international fame following her Britian’s Got Talent appearances, told the US chat show host today that singing for Pope Benedict at Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, during his visit to Scotland was a true privilege.

“When you sing for someone as high as His Holiness, it doesn’t get much better than that, really, because he’s the leader of the Catholic Church. He’s the leader of my Faith,” she said. “To sing for him is a pleasure and an honour.”

Ms Boyle also said meeting Donny was her teen dream come true.

“It was awesome,” she added. “That’s all I’m saying.”

During her appearance on Oprah, Ms Boyle sang the Crowded House track Don’t Dream It’s Over from her soon-to-be released econd album The Gift.
