Mass for Life

Sisters of the Gospel of Life urge Catholics to show their support at celebration in Glasgow

The Sisters of the Gospel of Life in Glasgow are encouraging support for this year’s archdiocesan Day for Life Mass, which will be celebrated by Archbishop Mario Conti tomorrow evening.

The sisters, whose primary apostolate is the Cardinal Winning Pro-Life Initiative, are hoping for as big a turnout as possible for tomorrow’s Mass. The late Cardinal Thomas Joseph Winning launched the major practical initiative to help women facing a crisis pregnancy on 9 March 1997. Tomorrow’s Mass will also launch the start of the sisters’ monthly pro-life Mass at the city’s Our Lady of Consolation Church to be held every third Wednesday.

The Bishops’ Conference of Scotland’s Day for Life message, which reflected on what it means to live a full and happy life, was distributed to parishes across the country at the weekend along with a letter from Archbishop Mario Conti of Glasgow. In the message and letter the Faithful were reminded that true happiness is to be found in God.

Tomorrow’s Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Consolation Church, Glasgow at 7.30pm. The Sisters of the Gospel of Life ask that those who cannot attend the Mass ‘pray for its success.’
