7-BLAIRS-COLLEGE

Body found near Blairs College

Aberdeenshire Police are investigating the discovery of a man’s body on the grounds of a former Catholic seminary.

The remains were found by a dog-walker on Sunday in a wooded area about a mile and a half from Blairs College (above) on the outskirts of Aberdeen.

A police investigation is under way into the circumstances of the death and a spokesman confirmed that a search of missing persons records would form part of the inquiry.

“The investigation is at an early stage and our inquiries are continuing,” the spokesman added.

It is believed the body may have lain at the remote part of the estate for some time.

Developers have been given outline planning permission for a £115 million golf and hotel development at the Blairs Estate.

The plan includes 280 houses, which would pay for the refurbishment of Blairs College as a 100-bedroom hotel.
