Play on rollercoaster of emotions surrounding abortion comes to St Mungo’s

SPUC Scotland Write to Life production showing as part of Lentfest 2016

A tragicomedy exploring the trauma of abortion is to be performed at St Mungo’s in Townhead at the end of the month.

Motherwell Express will be performed as part of Lentfest, the annual festival organised by the Archdiocese of Glasgow Arts Project, and has been put together by members of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children Scotland as the debut for its new creative initiative Write to Life.

The play tells the story of three women on a train stuck in the countryside: Hospital management consultant Rose, train worker and pro-life fertility counsellor Breda, and 19-year-old Monica, who is in a crisis pregnancy and desperate for someone to help her.

Performances will take place on Friday February 26 at 7pm and Saturday February 27 at 2pm. There will be a question and answer session after both performances with high profile pro-life advocates including SPUC Scotland CEO John Deighan, Professor David Paton of Nottingham University, and Margaret Cuthill, founder of Abortion Recovery Care and Healing.
