Missing St Ninian’s pupil found safe and well

Niamh Cockton, who disappeared from her bedroom in East Renfrewshire on Monday night, was found last night.

Police deployed a helicopter, search dogs and a number of officers in an effort to find a 15-year-old St Ninian’s High pupil who went missing on Monday evening.

Officers yesterday appealed for the public’s assistance in finding Niamh Cockton (above), who was last seen by her parents at 11pm as she went to bed in her home in the Williamwood Drive area of Clarkston. Her parents checked on her a short time later and found she was missing

According to police, the teenager has recently been dealing with some personal issues and her parents were extremely distressed and just want to know she is safe and well.

Inspector Alan Dickson of Police Scotland said yesterday that they were becoming increasingly concerned for Niamh’s welfare

Bishop John Keenan of Paisley is scheduled to celebrate Mass with S4-S6 pupils from St Ninian’s High School on Thursday night.
