A weekly guide to upcoming Church events April 26-May 1


— Celebrating the Resurrection. A festival of music with the Spiritus and Strathclyde choirs. 8pm in St Aloysius Church, Garnethill. Glasgow

— SPUC Pro-Life Chain Pro-life chain on Lothian Road from 11.00am to 1.00pm, preceded by a Rosary in the Sacred Heart Church, Lauriston at 10.00am, led by Archbishop Leo Cushley. Refreshments after in Lauriston Halls. All welcome for the Rosary and/or the chain.

— Catholic Nurses Guild of Scotland. Catholic Nurses Guild of Scotland monthly meeting in St Aloysius Church, Glasgow. Begins with 10am Mass. Denise Docherty will speak on Naprotechnology (Part 2).

— Spiritus Choir Concert. The renowned Spiritus Choir from Calgary, Canada will be in Glasgow to give a concert in St Aloysius Church in Garnethill along with the Strathclyde University Chamber Choir. James MacMillan will be conducting some of his music with them.

They will also be singing at the 11.00am Mass at St Columba’s, Hopehill Road the next day April 27.


— Cemetery Mass. Celebration of Mass at St Conval’s Cemetery, Barrhead at 2:00pm. The principal concelebrant will be Bishop John Keenan. There will also be a Mass for the Deceased at Hawkhead Cemetery on 4th May at 2pm. All welcome.


— St Lucy’s Pro-Life Group Rosary (Cumbernauld). Join this well established and fast-growing pro-life group in devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe to pray for the unborn and all affected by abortion.

7.15pm in St Lucy’s, Hornbeam Road, Cumbernauld G67 4NG

— Service of Light. Service of Light, followed by the Parish AGM in St John the Baptist, Perth. 7pm


— Conversations in Faith: Supporting Interreligious Dialogue. An attempt to foster understanding and respect among people of faith. Fiona & Howard Brodie speak on Judaism. 7pm-9pm. Ignatian Spirituality Centre, 35 Scott Street, Glasgow, G3 6PE.


— Newman Association Talk. Sr Mary Ross SND will speak on The Vatican and the American Sisters’ Leadership Group —an update. Admission is free to Newman members, £3 to non-members. 7.30pm in the Ogilvie Centre, Saint Aloysius’ Church, Rose Street, Glasgow.
