Nashville Dominican sisters arrive in Scotland

Bishop Hugh Gilbert of Aberdeen welcomed four Dominican Sisters of St Cecilia from Nashville in the US to Scotland yesterday.

The order has accepted the bishop’s invitation to set up a religious community in Aberdeen Diocese. Sr Anna Christi, Sr Imelda Ann, Sr Nicholas Marie and Sr Christiana will reside at the former Sisters of Mercy Convent building in Elgin, the Nashville Dominicans’ first European base, where an official Mass of welcome will be celebrated in their honour on Saturday at 11am.

The sisters are seen here with Bishop Gilbert and Deacon Vincent McQuaid after Mass in the convent chapel yesterday.
